World Statistics Day
On 20 October 2010 the World celebrated the first World Statistics Day. The celebration acknowledges the service provided by the global statistical system at national and international level, and hopes to help strengthen the awareness and trust of the public in official statistics. The Bureau of the Statistical Commission has recommended that World Statistics Day should be observed every five years. The next World Statistics Day will, therefore, be celebrated in 2015. The Commission in its 43rd session in 2012 will give guidance on the organization of the 2015 celebration. Date to be confirmed.

National SNAICC Conference 2013
The next conference of the Secretariat of National Aboriginal and Islander Child Care will be hosted by the Cape York/Gulf Remote Area Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Child Care Advisory Association (RAATSICC). SNAICC invites all those working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children - early childhood and child welfare leaders, practitioners, policy makers, researchers and government representatives from around Australia. The conference will be an opportunity to gather and make renewed commitments to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.

International Human Solidarity Day
International Human Solidarity Day was established by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2005 as an initiative in the fight against poverty. The Millennium Declaration identified solidarity as one of the fundamental and universal values that should underlie relations between peoples in the twenty-first century. Convinced that the promotion of the culture of solidarity and the spirit of sharing was important for combating poverty, the General Assembly proclaimed 20 December as International Human Solidarity Day.

International Migrants Day
In 2000 the General Assembly proclaimed International Migrants Day on 18 December. The Assembly has stressed the need to make further efforts to ensure respect for the human rights and fundamental freedoms of all migrants. It is estimated that some 130 million people live outside their countries of origin.

International Human Rights Day
Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
